Social Media Marketing Campaigns! Where to Start?

Hey everyone!๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome back to Days of Dani! Today's blog is going to be all about social media marketing campaigns. First I want to go over what that is exactly and some of the components to one. A social media marketing campaign is a coordinated social media marketing effort to communicate with a target audience to achieve a marketing or business goal. They are built on big ideas that persuade action from followers. One aspect that is important when putting together a marketing campaign is IMC or "Integrated Marketing Communication". IMC involves integrating the promotional tools in the marketing mix around a single themed idea or "campaign". This strategy results in a synergistic effect, ensuring that all promotional elements are carefully linked together. Some of the linked elements you should include are advertising, public relations, events, and social media. IMC integrates social media with other promotional mix elements to achieve certain goals ๐Ÿ–ง. Some of those goals include increasing brand awareness, cultivating interest, and encouraging contacts to respond to a particular call to action๐Ÿ“ฒ.

The campaign strategy, goals, and specific time frame that are involved in social media campaigns distinguish it from day-to-day social media activities. These campaigns can be used to promote a product or service, an event, or a company milestone; they can also build brand awareness or create a community of brand advocates. One example of a social media campaign success story would be Adobe Stock. Adobe Stock partnered with the Ocean Agency to launch a campaign called "Glowing Glowing Gone" to save the coral reefs after "Living Color" was named the Color of the Year in 2019. They worked with Pantone Color Institute to create the exact hues of coral fluorescence and created a collection of images for individuals to purchase. All the money they raised went towards the mission of protecting coral reefs.

I would also like to talk about the steps to take when launching a social media marketing campaign. Before you do so you want to establish your goals. The campaign should be built around specific business goals such as increasing brand awareness, leads, or sales; increasing web traffic, or generating email subscribers. The next step is to choose a campaign idea, theme, and type. Every campaign must start with a big idea that strongly resonates with the target audience. The most successful campaigns are simple, customer-centric, emotionally engaging, and encourage social media users to interact directly with the brand. Once the campaign idea has been selected, choose a suitable name and theme and write a detailed overview of the campaign. One last step that you should take before launching your social media marketing campaign I wanted to highlight is selecting social networks. Determining the social media networks the campaign will run on is important. You should research the best social media networks for the target market and the campaign goals. An example of this would be if you are running a user-generated photo contest campaign that targets a younger audience, Instagram may be the best platform to use.

That's it for today blog! Thanks for stopping by and learning about social media marketing campaigns! I'll catch you next time on Days of Dani!๐Ÿ˜
