Let's Dive into Components of an Instagram Post!

When you're starting up your first Instagram account, the first thing you need to realize is that Instagram is all about visual content. Many users state that "visual appearance" of a product is what persuades them to buy it. Instagram allows for many different photo editing capabilities and an abundance of filter options that help to enhance your photos quality.

After you've taken a photo or two for your Instagram page you want to focus on the caption, something exciting and witty to get your viewers engaged. On Instagram, captions can be up to 2,200 characters long, but like any other social media platform, you might want to keep it short and sweet depending on the content of the photos. One tip I learned from the reading that I never really thought abut when I post on Instagram is that your viewers can only see part of your caption when scrolling through their feed, so you'll want to put the most important message at the beginning of your post. Another tip is that you may want to use emojis and punctuation in your captions to make them more creative for your viewers.

Now I want to dive into coming up with hashtags for your Instagram posts. Hashtags don't seem to help get views or reach, but they do add context to content and can even help Instagram understand what the posts are about which increases the chance that the content is delivered to the right people, and because of that, you want to make sure your hashtags are relevant to the content or business in your photos/videos. Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post but that doesn't mean you should use all 30 in one sitting. The ideal number of hashtags is between 3-5 per post.

That's a little bit about the components of Instagram and I threw in some tips to help you throughout the process of setting up your own account!
